Instructional design:
The students could use contrast in their essay writing while stating different perspective. They have to apply the topic in their real practice, e.g. research draft.
Method:
The teacher gives the students a video explaining about this topic. Then, she asks them to practise the topic.
Description:
last week we have studied about comparison. The comparison in writing represents similar ideas/ elements while contrast in writing represents different ideas/ elements. Both comparison and contrast in writing are used to make a meaningful argument. The patterns of contrast depend on the topic, the audience, and the purposes. Therefore, they might have different phrases such as while, whereas, unlike, the difference, etc. To organize the essay text, the writer could develop his outline by discussing the subject itself or by individual points. Contrast could be done using these following steps:
1. find out any subject or individual points that would be compared or contrasted
2. apply your critical thinking to create a meaningful discussion
3. select what will be your main points
4. outline and develop your ideas on those points.

Soto VS Rawon
Indonesia has many kinds of food. Indonesian food has special taste. It is due to the many spices that come from our country are able to create a special flavor. Indonesian food is different from foreign food. Therefore, Indonesian food is not only liked by Indonesian, but also by many foreigners. One of the favorite foods in Indonesian society is Rawon. Rawon is a gravy food like Soto. However, Rawon is similar to soto, but they aren’t the same.
As we know, both Soto and Rawon are gravy foods which are originated from indonesia. Both of them use the same meat as the base ingredients. Beef is often used as the main ingredient of making Rawon and Soup. When we eat them served with hot chili, it can add a different sensation. As a complement, cracker is served as a main choice to eat Rawon and Soto. Then both of soto and rawon are very cheap in price.
Although, rawon and soto are similar, both of them are different. The first difference is the gravy. Rawon has brown gravy resulted from kluwak as basic material. While Soto uses turmeric to color yellow in its gravy.
The second difference is the material; Rawon often uses beef or mutton. Whereas, soto uses beef or chicken. The complementary is crackers, Soto usually uses fish crackers, while Rawon often uses shrimp crackers.
In conclusion, although the soto and rawon are similar in their gravy, they are really different in the gravy, material, and crackers. We can choose one or even all of them that we really want to eat because we can find them easily with the cheap price.

Topic : Living at Boarding House vs Living at Dormitory
---Living at Boarding House is different from living at Dormitory.
---If you live at Boarding House, you will act as the owner of the house because you are free to manage yourself without any supervision from people, it means you should cook your breakfast, washing your garment and filling bath-tub water by yourself. Here, you are the only one to serve and to be served, so there is no one to take an responsiblity for your living, but if you have a problem with the facility, you can contact the owner of the boarding house, to whom you pay the monthly-fee, to consult the problem.
---However, if you live at Dormitory, you will be instructed to obey the regulation given by the management handling, because Dormitory has its own way in educating the inhabitants. It is different form boarding house, it is fully under control with education management system owned by the dormitory. You can also have more friends to share a story, to learn in group, and to have fun together. Dormitory also helps you to study focusly, you do not need to cook because it is already provided by staff of the dormitory, so nothing distrubs you to study.
---Although both boarding house and dormitory equally provide you a place to live, but living at dormitory gives you more benifits than living at boarding house.

ReplyDeleteMusic is any sound that is produced intentionally by a person or group to be served. Even without music life felt colorless. Many people admire to music. Because music can create reassure to heart and the relaxed situation, and nice for hearing. Here I will discuss the differences and similarities between pop and rock music.
There are several things that different between pop and rock. The first different is music pop music tends focus on the vocals. Because the pop music uses rhythm for more feel more free and mild to sing. Whereas rock music is more tends focus on its musical instrument. Because for become characteristic sound of rock it.
The second different is stream of pop music is softer. That's because pop music is more varied the theme of poem, from adolescent life and romance. Whereas stream of rock music beats is faster, musical instrument is hard, so noisy on the ear. And upbeat adrenaline to listeners. The theme is taken from rock music is to raise social criticisms
The final different is finding of the pop music singers which usually dressed more neat and interesting. Whereas the rock singer dressed impressed shambles. This is according to with musical instrumental is hard, which uses with rock music.
Besides differences which gets in pop and rock music. It also has many similarities. Let’s looking many similarities.
There are similarities from pop and rock music, such as: first of all are many use same musical instruments, such as: guitar, bass, and drum to produce rhythms music. The second similarity is equally able to be used to express feelings, criticisms, and suggestions for his audiences. The third similarity is the pop and rock is the kind of music that favoured by young people.
Can be concluded from the discussion between pop and rock music have a difference that is: pop music more tends focus on vocals, whereas the rock is more tends focus on its musical instrument. The stream of pop music is softer, whereas rock music is more hard and noisy. And performance pop singers neater than rock singers. Rock and pop music similarity is using same musical instruments, as a tool to express the expression of song writer and favored by young people. That differences and similarities of pop and rock music are still popular today.

Basketball vs Soccer
Basketball and soccer are sports with many similarities and differences. Both sports are fun to play and each one has many beneficial qualities. Here are some of the similarities and differences with basketball and soccer
Basketball and soccer are played with a round ball. They both provide a ton of cardiovascular exercise such as running; so if you want to get in shape these are the sports to play. A referee judges each game. When a player breaks the rules he or she is called for a foul. A soccer player receives a red or yellow card and a basketball player is called for a foul. Finally a score is kept in each game. The team with the highest score wins.
Even though basketball and soccer are similar, differences do exist. Even though an athlete dribbles the ball in both sports, a basketball player uses his hands and a soccer player uses his feet. Usually soccer is played outside on a large field and basketball is played indoor on a court made out of wood. Basketball is played with 5 players and soccer has 11. Lastly, basketball has four quarters and soccer has two halves.
In conclusion both sports are fun and exciting to play. Each one offers exercise and competitiveness. Also, they are unique in their own way.

Traditional Market Vs Modern Market
Outline:
1. This traditional market includes a direct purchase between seller and customer. Whereas in modern markets the buyer immediately picks up items to buy on existing shelves.
2. Prices in traditional markets tend to be cheaper than in modern markets.
3. In the traditional market we can bargain at the price of goods, where's in modern markets we cannot.
Paragraph:
Some people may be lazy to shop at traditional markets because the place is less comfortable, dirty and jostling unlike the modern market that provides convenience for the buyer. However, shopping in traditional markets is more profitable than shopping in the modern market. Because in this traditional market, there is a sale and purchase transactions that occur directly between the seller and the buyer, so the goods to be purchased certainly can be bargained at a slightly cheaper price. Another case with the modern market, goods in this market has been labeled with prices vary depending on the type of goods, we can not directly bargain the price of goods to be purchased.
Decoratively, the modern market does show the beauty and the rides are so alluring, so no wonder the buyers are very fond of visiting the modern market. In addition, the goods sold were fairly complete, ranging from primary needs such as meat, chicken, vegetables, rice and clothing to secondary needs such as mobile phones, toys, watches, and snacks are also available in this modern market. In contrast to modern markets, traditional markets also provide primary and secondary goods, but to look for those items is a bit of a nuisance, since primary and secondary goods are not in one place, so extra effort is needed to track and locate the goods that. Nevertheless, in terms of modern market prices have the price of goods fairly expensive compared to traditional markets. Maybe for people with middle economy would prefer to shop in traditional market than modern market.
