ESSAY WRITING TEST

Writing an essay is a part of academic practices. People transform their ideas and thoughts into any written texts. If they do not have any topics, they could read other authors' texts either in online media or in offline media such as journals, articles, e-book, etc. You as the writer could apply ATM (See, Imitate, and Modify or we say Amati Tiru and Modifikasi) while writing an essay. Therefore, this final test provides two questions and one project to evaluate the students' ability of the subject. To do the test, you could open this link.

    1. The UK origin of the industrial revolution also can be explained by a focus of demand. At that time, worker's salary was high, but the energy from coal was cheap. This inspired The company (The Leader) to generate the development of mechanical invention based on steam power, which enabled the company to reduce the expenses by mechanising production.

    2. There are 3 types of referencing system based on Bailey (2011) :
    (a) The Harvard system, generally used for English Language and Business.
    The Example :
The novel begins with the grim image of the train passengers’ faces, which are described as ‘pale yellow, the colour of the fog’ (Dostoyevsky, 2004, p. 5).

    (b) The Vancouver system, widely used in Medicine and Science.
    Example :
Geck MJ, Yoo S, Wang JC. Assessment of cervical ligamentous injury in trauma patients using MRI. J Spinal Disord. 2001;14(5):371-7.

c). The footnote system (also known as endnotes), commonly used in the
Humanities, in which sources are listed at the bottom of the page and
again at the end of the paper.
    Example :
It has long been argued that pork and leek sausages are better than pork and apple.1 However, Neville has recently produced conclusive evidence to the contrary.2

1 John Butcher, The Perfect Sausage: From Pigsty to Plate (Cumberland: Pork Press, 1990), pp. 78-90.

---According to Allen (2009). He argued that Britain had priority over demand, and at that time the cost of cheap coal and rising labor costs. thus, encouraging the use of steam power to mechanize production, thereby saving wages and increasing profits. Because of that, Britain experienced the industrial revolution for the first time.

    1. The background for the industrial revolution in the UK was because at that time the cost of paying workers was very high, so the bosses thought of another way, namely by using a steam engine because at that time the price of coal was cheap so that it could be used as fuel for the engine.

This empowered the improvement of mechanical developments based on steam control, which empowered bosses to spare cash by automating generation (Allen, 2009).

    2. Types of Referencing System based on Bailey (2011) there are:

    - The Harvard System
It is generally used for English Language and Bussiness.
    Example:

Cancer Council 2017, Causes of cancer, Cancer Council, viewed 21 May 2018, .

    - - The Vancouver System
It is widely used in Medicine and Science. Numbers in brackets are inserted after the citation and these link to a numbered list of references.
    Example:
Citations within the text of your paper are identified with a number in round brackets.
Example: Jones (1) has argued that…

    - - The Footnote System
It is known as endnotes that commonly used in the Humanities, in which sources are listed at the bottom of the page and again at the end of the paper.
    Example:
Breaker Morant has been described as, "... a hard-fisted bushman, a versifier, womaniser, drunkard, gambler, a brilliant horseman, social success, brave soldier, and a ruthless
    adversary ...".1

    1. Allen (2009) claims that the best solution to explain the British of the eighteenth century is how to focus on the demand. At the moment, energy from coal was cheap, but employees' labor costs was high. Therefore, it's supported the development of mechanise inventions based on steam power which possibility boss thrift money with mechanical production.
