Latest Policy from MoECristek
The Ministry of Education is currently focusing on the Merdeka Curriculum, which provides flexibility for schools to customize learning according to student needs. One of the important programs emphasized is the Pancasila Student Profile Strengthening Project (P5). This program aims to build student character through project-based activities.
In the latest policy, the additional duties of teachers who manage P5 projects are counted as equivalent to teaching hours to fulfill the workload. In addition, digital learning resources such as iPusnas and MoEC Digital Books are provided so that students and teachers have easy access to quality reading materials.
Merdeka Curriculum gives teachers the freedom to be more innovative, for example using project-based learning or digital resources. This supports students to actively learn and understand the material in depth, not just memorization. This is very good, but many teachers still do not fully understand how to use technology in learning or apply the P5 approach. This is especially true in remote areas, where infrastructure such as the internet is still limited.
In my opinion, there needs to be intensive training for teachers to be better prepared to implement project-based learning and utilize digital technology. The government should focus more on equalizing access to technology throughout Indonesia.
I analyzed the video "Grade 1: Beginning Reading and Writing", which teaches students letter recognition and reading. The video is suitable for beginner students, using a simple and interactive approach. However, this material is more effective when combined with a project-based approach, such as encouraging students to create short stories from the words learned, to be more in line with Merdeka Curriculum.

ReplyDeleteThe policy development curriculum is designed to create an education system that is more suited to the needs of the times and the world of work. One of the steps taken in Indonesia is the Independent Curriculum, which provides schools with the opportunity to develop and adapt the curriculum according to local needs and student interests. This policy reduces the pressure to use the same textbooks and gives teachers more freedom in developing more adaptive teaching methods, taking into account students' abilities and potential. The Merdeka Curriculum also emphasizes the importance of developing character and life skills, so that students are not only academically intelligent, but also ready to face real challenges.
On the other hand, education policy leads to increased use of technology in the learning process. For example, the government encourages the integration of technology into the classroom, such as digital learning and the use of social media to support learning activities. This policy aims to ensure that students not only master open materials, but can also develop digital skills that are important in the industrial era 4.0. However, although this policy has many advantages, the main challenge in its implementation is the inequality of resources, such as access to adequate technology in remote areas, as well as teachers' readiness to use technology effectively.

ReplyDelete1. After knowing the latest information related to curriculum development, I think there are some things that should be done such as :
a. Improving the Quality of Teacher Training
For the curriculum to be implemented effectively, more in-depth training for teachers is needed. This training should include the use of technology, the application of project-based learning, and how to develop student-centered learning.
b. Strengthening Education Infrastructure
Strengthening education infrastructure, both in terms of physical facilities and access to technology, is essential, especially for more remote areas.
c. Improving the Evaluation System
Although Merdeka Curriculum encourages more flexible and competency-based evaluation, the evaluation system needs to be strengthened so that it can be more objective, standardized, and still measure maximum results.
d. Integrated and Sustainable Approach
The development of this curriculum needs to pay attention to aspects related to strengthening character, national values, and student readiness to face the challenges of an increasingly dynamic world of work. Integration between teaching life skills and academic knowledge should be given more attention.
e. Improvements in Access and Distribution of Learning Materials
Learning materials need to be adapted to the local context, while still paying attention to quality equality throughout Indonesia. The provision of digitally accessible learning materials is also important to reach all regions.
2. https://youtu.be/l4e2lRlpAGs?si=y-arCkXLGM9G_RSW
The learning video uses the Problem-Based Learning (PBL) Method which is very much in line with the Merdeka Curriculum as both emphasize student-centered learning, developing critical thinking skills, creativity, and collaboration. PBL encourages students to actively solve real problems, which are relevant to their lives, and hone their ability to work together in groups. This supports the Merdeka Curriculum's goal to provide contextualized learning that is flexible, independent, and connected to the real world, so that students can develop competencies holistically and be ready to face future challenges.

ReplyDeleteMy idea about curriculum development and materials facing policies that can be linked to the Dapodik (Data Pokok Pendidikan) platform is that curriculum development and learning materials in Indonesia face great challenges in ensuring their relevance and inclusiveness amidst the dynamics of education policies. The Dapodik platform from the ministry of education, culture, research and technology is key in supporting this policy, by providing accurate data related to students, educators and school infrastructure. By utilizing the data collected through Dapodik, curriculum development can be more targeted to suit local and national needs. In addition, learning materials can be contextualized to align with regional potential and technological developments, such as through the digitization of teaching materials. In supporting Merdeka Belajar policy, this data can also be a foothold for the government to formulate evidence-based policies, so as to improve the quality of learning evenly throughout Indonesia.
I analyzed the video "Grade 2 SD: Cultural Arts (Getting to Know 2- and 3-Dimensional Works), which introduces students to a variety of different art techniques to encourage children to be creative and experiment with different materials and techniques. The video is invaluable for teachers and parents who want to teach their children about art and the video is aligned with Merdeka Curriculum.

Formal education activities that integrate the national curriculum with the Islamic Religious Education (PAI) curriculum usually aim to create a generation that is not only academically competent but also has religious values. This model allows students to study general subjects according to the national curriculum while deepening their understanding of Islam through a thematic or project-based approach. Its implementation can be done through:
Character Strengthening: Religious values are instilled in all subjects.
Extracurricular Activities: Such as Islamic studies or Tahfiz programs.
Contextual Learning: Linking religious concepts with science or social sciences.
This integration supports policies such as Merdeka Belajar.

Data-Driven Decisions: Use updated data to identify learning gaps and adjust materials accordingly.
Responsive Design: Ensure curricula are flexible to adapt to policy changes, with ongoing professional development for teachers.
These strategies can help create a more effective and responsive educational framework aligned with current policies.
2. Marianna Pascal’s video emphasizes that confidence, not just ability, is key to speaking a new language. This aligns with modern curricula that prioritize communication over perfection. Her focus on attitude helps reduce fear of mistakes, making it relevant for boosting fluency and practical use in real-life situations.
The video is especially useful for building confidence and soft skills, such as public speaking and self-expression. However, it works best as a supplement to structured lessons that teach grammar and vocabulary. While motivating, it might resonate more with adults or professionals than younger students.
For integration, this video could inspire speaking exercises, role-playing, or discussions about balancing fluency and accuracy. It’s a great motivational tool but should complement structured language instruction to meet all curriculum goals.

1. Access the latest Ministry of Education information at https://dapo.kemdikbud.go.id/. Then, try to give your idea about the curriculum and material development facing his policy
ReplyDeleteThe Ministry of Education provides tools like the Dapodik system for tracking and managing educational data across various levels. Their recent focus includes updating the Dapodik application, ensuring inclusive environments through training materials like anti-violence modules, and leveraging data for systemic improvement.
Regarding curriculum and material development, this data-centric approach is essential. It allows educators to tailor resources effectively, align with local needs, and ensure inclusivity while fostering innovation. Regular updates and training can empower teachers and administrators to adapt dynamically to policy changes.
2. Please select one of the teaching videos on YouTube. Then try to analyse the materials in it whether appropriate or not to the existing curriculum

ReplyDelete1.The Ministry of Education, Culture, Research, and Technology (Kemdikbud) in Indonesia has focused on curriculum and material development through the implementation of the Kurikulum Merdeka (Freedom Curriculum). This policy emphasizes flexibility in teaching and learning to support diverse educational needs, fostering independent and meaningful learning experiences for students.
Key features include:
Structure and Assessment of Kurikulum Merdeka:
Schools are encouraged to develop customized teaching materials, such as lesson plans, student activity sheets (LKPD), and assessment tools.
Assessment focuses on formative approaches to measure student growth and adapt instruction accordingly.
Teacher and School Collaboration:
Platforms like SPADA (Sistem Pembelajaran Daring Indonesia) provide resources, training, and forums for educators to collaborate and share best practices.
Reflective and Practical Approaches:
Teachers undergo training on designing lesson plans, conducting classroom observations, and evaluating teaching effectiveness through portfolio development and reflection activities.
Integration of Digital Learning:
The ministry supports digital tools and resources for online learning to enhance the delivery of the curriculum
2. Overall in this video: The Direct Method is highly effective in environments where immersion is feasible, such as language schools or settings with motivated learners. However, its limitations for beginners and its heavy reliance on skilled teachers make it less adaptable in resource-constrained or mixed-skill classrooms. Combining this method with supplemental strategies, such as structured grammar instruction and reading exercises, may provide a more balanced language learning experience. https://youtu.be/gqo7Lbb87BI?si=x1XJtKLx_1vRdpsg

1. The Ministry of Education's Dapodik platform focuses on education data management, supporting school administration, curriculum updates, and teacher data synchronization. Key initiatives include enhancing digital tools, updating pedagogical frameworks like Kurikulum Merdeka, and promoting inclusive education through anti-violence training.
For curriculum and material development, a strong focus on flexibility and contextual learning is vital. Resources should emphasize critical thinking and integration with digital platforms. Continuous training for educators and feedback from local stakeholders could ensure effective implementation and relevance.
2. I watched a video about "Bahasa Inggris Kurikulum Merdeka – Kelas 1 SD Lesson 1 - Greetings and Leave Takings". The video teaches simple English phrases like "Good morning" and "Goodbye" for first-grade students. It uses pictures and examples to explain how to greet and say goodbye.
In my opinion, the video is great for students who are just starting to learn English. It focuses on useful and easy phrases. The visuals and examples make it easy for young learners to understand. The video doesn’t include activities for students to practice, like games or role-playing.
Teachers can use this video in class and add fun activities like acting or group discussions to help students practice and we can include local examples to connect the lesson to the students' daily lives.

Technology such as the Merdeka Mengajar Platform can also be utilized more optimally for collaboration between educators.
2. The following are the advantages and disadvantages of independent curriculum learning:
• Advantages
1. Clear Presentation: The material is explained in a simple and easy to understand manner.
2. Supporting Visuals: There is use of attractive graphics and illustrations to support explanations.
3. Relevance: The content is in accordance with the principles of the Independent Curriculum, such as contextual and project-based learning.
• Disadvantages
1. Limited Length: Less in-depth explanations for some important topics.
2. Not Interactive: There are no question and answer sessions or examples of interactive activities that involve students.
3. Narrow Focus: Some important aspects of the Merdeka Curriculum, such as technology integration or evaluation strategies, are less covered.
This is an example of independent curriculum learning practice
