THEORETICAL FRAMEWORK

Learning and teaching have been integrated by technology measuring an effective tool and platform to

connect student’s learning style. Educators must observe student by student’s learning style to adjust to style and

learning methodology in the classroom. Educators are allowed to accommodate technology to the unique learning

styles in each students now that all students have different learning style and method (Bernard et al., 2017).

Identifying student’s learning style has several benefits to students and of course to educators as well. For students,

they will aware of their weaknesses and strangenesses while they are learning. For educators, they will learn how

to implement methodologies in the classroom based on student’s learning style in order to ease in making lesson

plan and giving material in the classroom. Besides that, they are also easy to collect information and differentiated

instructional resources in conducting assessment in the classroom. The present today, English language assessment

may be conducted in many forms, one of them is using the integration of technology/digital revolution or formerly

known as Artificial Intelligence.

Assessment is crucial component in learning activity. Assessment is one of influential factor which

facilitates learning activity in the classroom (Ha, 2021). This is conducted to measure the understanding students

to the material. In assessing process, the educators should be fair and clear (Ghaemi & Sadoughvanini, 2023).

According to Douglas, assessment is popular and is on-going process that much wider domain is compassed, and

sometimes can be misunderstood term in educational practice (Douglas, 2004). Moreover, assessment is a mutual

practice in learning classroom where students and educators will participate in assessment process. Indeed, there

are two types of assessment: summative and formative assessment (Douglas, 2004). Formative assessment is

evaluating students’ skill that is conducted in growth process, not in the end of a course. Summative assessment is

evaluating students’ skill that is conducted in the end of a course which the purpose is to improve students’

language ability. In addition, assessment design requires carefully design and technique, so that Evaluating and

assessing are the important requirement as standardized learning activity in the classroom (Saud & Arabia, n.d.).

Reliability and validity are the keywords in assessing and evaluating language and those are not as rigid as

the teachers think (Sun, n.d.).Reliability in language assessment refers to the consistency, stability, and

dependability of the assessment results (Douglas, 2004). Nevertheless, Validity is the measurement conducting to

measure whether a given test is appropriate and has an intention or not (Fulcher & Davidson, n.d.). Validity must

be conducted because by far that is the most important creation and principle of an effective test and measures

what the test is, what educator teaches and how the educator teaches. Then, if we talk about assessment, it will

relate to testing and teaching as it has the relationship among those.


English language assessment may be conducted in many forms, one of them is using the integration of

technology/digital revolution or formerly known as Artificial Intelligence. Technology integration contributes a

  16. Dalam artikel ini, terdapat beberapa teori dan kerangka yang menjadi acuan oleh penulis, di antaranya:

    1. Teori Gaya Belajar: Artikel ini mengacu pada penelitian oleh Bernard et al. (2017) yang menekankan pentingnya mengidentifikasi gaya belajar siswa untuk menyesuaikan metodologi pengajaran. Ini menunjukkan bahwa teknologi dapat digunakan untuk mengakomodasi gaya belajar yang berbeda di dalam kelas.

    2. Teori Penilaian: Douglas (2004) diacu untuk menjelaskan konsep penilaian sebagai proses yang berkelanjutan dan penting dalam pendidikan. Penilaian dibagi menjadi dua jenis: formatif dan sumatif, yang masing-masing memiliki tujuan dan waktu pelaksanaan yang berbeda.

    3. Reliabilitas dan Validitas dalam Penilaian: Sun (n.d.) dan Fulcher & Davidson (n.d.) juga disebutkan dalam konteks pentingnya reliabilitas dan validitas dalam penilaian bahasa. Reliabilitas mengacu pada konsistensi hasil penilaian, sedangkan validitas berkaitan dengan kesesuaian alat ukur dengan tujuan pengukuran.

    4. Kerangka Teori oleh Swiecki et al. (2022): Artikel ini mengadopsi kerangka yang diusulkan oleh Swiecki et al. yang membahas kesulitan yang dihadapi pendidik dalam merancang dan menerapkan penilaian di era kecerdasan buatan. Kerangka ini relevan karena penilaian telah banyak berubah akibat penggunaan AI yang masif.

    5. Penggunaan Teknologi dalam Pendidikan: Artikel ini juga mengacu pada penelitian oleh Jiang et al. (2023) yang mengeksplorasi peran AI dalam memfasilitasi penilaian kinerja menulis dalam pembelajaran bahasa kedua.

    Secara keseluruhan, artikel ini menggabungkan berbagai teori dan penelitian untuk mendukung argumen tentang pentingnya integrasi teknologi, khususnya AI, dalam proses penilaian pendidikan, serta bagaimana hal ini dapat meningkatkan pengalaman belajar bahasa Inggris.
