SESSION 15: FINDING MAIN IDEAS AND SUPPORTING DETAILS (4) IN INTERPRETATIVE LISTENING

    In this session, the students learn about the main ideas and supporting details in the situation of bus station. The main ideas found in conversation are related to the topic being discussed. They are the center of communication. Whereas the supporting details refer to any dialogues that contribute to the main ideas. Both ideas should be found in any topics in spoken text. To know the intentions or the goals of speaker, we have to know the context. One of contexts is very useful to interact each other while we go with a public transportation. Therefore, the recent topic 'in the bus station' is a context in daily communication that should be understood by the students. To practise their knowledge in interpretative listening, the students have to listen to the video from Hello4English Youtube Channel. Then, they have to answer these following questions;

1. How many people are in the dialogues?

2. What are the main ideas found in the dialogues?

3. What are the supporting details found in the dialogues?

4. How do the main ideas and supporting ideas connect each other?
